Agenda

“ Ammonia’s chemical compound, consisting of NH3 positions itself to be the perfect carrier of hydrogen fuel supplying hydrogen to different countries that would normally import oil and gas to meet its energy demands. Ammonia can also be a key component to help decarbonise the maritime and shipping sectors as an alternative fuel source. ”

With COVID-19 disrupting the energy mix globally and the demand for oil and gas plummeting, many
countries have now released their green recovery plan with hydrogen production being at the
forefront. Hydrogen is now labelled as the fuel of the future, with all the super major oil and gas
companies committing to green hydrogen production, ammonia now has a key role to play.

Ammonia’s chemical compound, consisting of NH3 positions itself to be the perfect carrier of

meet its energy demands. Ammonia can also be a key component to help decarbonise the maritime
and shipping sectors as an alternative fuel source.

The European Green Ammonia & Hydrogen Decarbonisation Summit will address the latest
developments and opportunities across green ammonia and hydrogen sectors. It will determine
strategies for greater decarbonisation of the energy intensive industries, shipping and maritime
sectors. It will bring together 250+ decarbonisation policy makers, industry and innovators, the two dayamm summit will address approaches for accelerating the rollout of innovative decarbonising
technologies.

Sessions One and Two

EU & International Policy

With COVID-19 changing the energy demand and energy matrix over the last 12 months, many countries have now outlined their own hydrogen roadmaps which detail the backbone for a greener recovery. In this session we will discuss how ammonia can be part of this new transition, given ammonia’s chemical properties. NH3 makes it the perfect carrier fuel to help decarbonise the shipping, maritime and industrial sectors.

Schedule:

  • 9:25 Chairs opening address
  • 9:30 Ditte Juul Jørgensen, Director General, European Commission
  • 9:50 Paolo Frankl, Head of Renewable Energy Division, International Energy Agency
  • 10:10 Hon Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP ,South Australian Minister for Energy and Mining.
  • 10:30 Adamo Screnci, Vice President Hydrogen, Total
  • 10:50 10.50 Q&A
  • 11:00 Coffee & Networking Break

Projects

Within this session we will review the different projects globally for green ammonia production, we also discuss the opportunities across Europe which has great potential for ammonia manufacturing to transform their current production to produce green ammonia.
