Andrew Hogg, Deputy Director, Energy Industries, Scottish Government
Andrew has been the Deputy Director of Energy Industries since January 2019. Andrew’s previous roles in Scottish Government include : Head of Oil & Gas Policy , Head of Macroeconomics & Fiscal Analysis, and Economic Adviser to the First Minister of Scotland.
Andrew is currently responsible for electricity and networks policy, large scale renewables, hydrogen, carbon capture utilisation and storage, oil & gas, decommissioning, and industrial decarbonisation. Andrew also oversees the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit. He has a wealth of experience across public policy, the Government Economic Service and chartered accountancy roles.
Andrew is a qualified chartered accountant, and in 2005, he completed a Masters in Economic Management and Policy, Economics from University of Strathclyde.
