Andy has over 38 years’ experience in energy advisory and consulting roles. A geophysicist by training, he has spent much of his career leading complex, multidisciplinary projects across the energy value chain.

He brings a strong techno-commercial perspective, shaped by senior leadership roles in the UK and internationally, including 12 years based in Houston, Texas. This experience gives him a practical understanding of how technical decisions translate into commercial outcomes.

As a Technical Director in GHD’s Energy Transition Advisory team, Andy works at the intersection of traditional energy systems and emerging low-carbon solutions. He advises clients on how to adapt existing assets and portfolios while maintaining energy security and investment confidence.

Andy has developed significant expertise across CCS, geothermal, hydrogen and energy storage, including natural gas. He supports clients in developing technically robust and commercially viable strategies that enable an orderly transition in a decarbonising economy.
