Dan Sadler

Dan Sadler

Dan is a Leeds based Chartered Engineer with 25 years experience , is accountable for the UK Hydrogen portfolio at Equinor and is a well-respected professional across the UK energy transition landscape.  The first half of Dan's career focused on Major Project Delivery, Investment Planning and Regulatory Business Plan development/execution within the UK onshore gas industry.  In 2013 Dan originated, delivered and authored the H21 Leeds City Gate value chain study which played a significant role in changing the UK perspective on hydrogens place in the energy transition. H21 is still the basis for Hydrogen to heat conversion supplemented by 'H21 North of England' which focused on Hydrogen delivery, storage and use for heat, power and industry. Working with Equinor since 2017 Dan has been instrumental in shaping UK Low Carbon Solutions strategy including concept development for H2H Saltend, Zero Carbon Humber Industrial Partnership and development of the Northern Endurance Partnership 'CO2 T&S' System for which he was accountable until February 2024.  In 2016 Dan spent a year as advisor to UK Government on the future of gas and was also Equinor’s lead on the East Coast Cluster bid into the track1 Cluster Sequencing process. Dan was voted the 'UK Energy Champion' by a panel of independent peers in 2018 for his work on the energy transition.
