Matt has over 20 years of experience in climate change policy and finance, including fifteen with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office working on financing projects in the renewable energy, liquid fuels, chemicals, industrial energy efficiency, transportation, hydrogen, and carbon management sectors. Matt’s work has included i) advising clients on structuring clean energy project finance deals, ii) writing guidance for private sector players interested in applying for Federal funding, iii) conducting due diligence and underwriting of loan and loan guarantee applications, and iv) communicating with stakeholders on the energy transition. Matt joined Societe Generale’s sustainable finance team in April 2023 and advises clients on energy transition project finance opportunities including Federal government loans, grants, and tax credits.
