Molly Iliffe

Molly Iliffe

Molly Iliffe is an experienced project manager and senior consultant working in the Energy and Climate Change Team in ERM’s Edinburgh office. Molly has considerable experience in energy transition, renewables and hydrogen, with more than thirteen years experience in the power industry and particular expertise in financial modelling, technical and commercial advisory and project management. Prior to joining ERM, Molly spent more than five years on the senior management team of a leading renewable energy consultancy business.

Molly’s recent hydrogen experience includes building models and business cases for a wide variety of purposes, including project feasibility financial modelling, concept select, economic impact assessment, supply chain assessment and market analysis. Recent hydrogen projects include evaluating the feasibility of hydrogen production at scale from offshore wind in the UK North Sea for the Offshore Wind Innovation Hub/ORE Catapult. Molly also built the financial model for the Dolphyn green hydrogen offshore floating wind project, for both prototype and commercial stage, which included modelling Capex and Opex cost reductions and tariff analysis underpinning project feasibility. On the hydrogen supply side, Molly built the cost model for commercial appliances for the Hy4Heat project, which involved estimating the cost of converting or replacing all commercial appliances in the UK from natural gas to hydrogen. Molly has also recently been involved in the HyGen project for a new hydrogen production and storage site in Scotland and is joint author of the ‘options evaluation’ report produced with SGN. Recent hydrogen project experience for corporate clients include assisting an M&A client assessing a potential acquisition exposed to the hydrogen space through development of scenarios for hydrogen conversion in the UK and impacts on the target. Currently, Molly is working with a wind farm developer in Scotland developing feasibility stage modelling of green hydrogen from onshore wind, including Capex and Opex estimates over time.
