Dr Paula Carey is the Managing Director of Carbon8 Systems. Until 2010, she was an academic, with the University of Greenwich, teaching Engineering Geology up to Master’s level. In 2010, Paula left the University to take over the management role in the University spin-out, and alongside Mark Orsbourn and Colin Hills, Paula formed Carbon8 Aggregates to commercialize Accelerated Carbonation Technology in the UK. As Quality Assurance and Research Director of Carbon8 Aggregates, Paula has developed expertise in the scale-up and commercialization of accelerated carbonation, alongside expertise in environmental legislation, materials testing, and Integrated Management Systems; ensuring that Carbon8 Aggregates gained certification for ISO 14001, 9001 and OHSAS 18001 for their plants in Suffolk and Avonmouth. In November 2016, Paula left Carbon8 Aggregates to concentrate on developing ACT for other waste streams and internationally with Carbon8 Systems.
