Ruth is responsible for strategy and business development across the EET por olio, including 
ini a ves on low carbon fuels and carbon capture.  Ruth joined EET in September 2024 
following three years as Chief Execu ve of the Carbon Capture and Storage Associa on.  
Ruth has extensive UK Government experience, notably at the Department of Energy and 
Climate Change, where she played a pivotal role in energy policy – nego a ng EU and 
interna onal CCUS agreements, managing the UK’s Electricity Market Reform programme to 
incen vise investment in renewable power genera on and establishing the Low Carbon 
Contracts Company as a new arms’ length body.  Ruth is a member of the Ministerial CCUS 
Council, a Non-Execu ve Director of the CCSA, and an UK Equality in Energy Transi ons 
Ambassador.  She is also Fellow of the Energy Ins tute and holds a Master of Physics from 
the University of Oxford.
