Tim Shire is Strategy and Process Engineering Manager, leading on EET Fuels’ decarbonisation projects.  Part of Essar Energy Transition, EET Fuels plans to eliminate 95% of all carbon emissions from its refinery processes.

A Chemical Engineer by training, Tim began his career working for a utilities’ engineering, procurement and construction company based in the UK.  In 2006, Tim joined KBC as an Energy Efficiency Consultant where he consulted on a large number of oil, gas and petrochemicals sites before moving into innovation and research and development. During his time at KBC,  Tim led its consulting innovation team and was product manager for an energy management software suite.  Tim then became the company’s VP Energy Transition and led the strategic and technical response to the ongoing disruption in the energy industry.

In 2019, Tim joined EET Fuels (previously Essar Oil UK) and is now the process engineering and strategy lead for the major decarbonisation projects team.  Tim’s role includes integrating low carbon industrial hydrogen and carbon capture, both enabled by the HyNet industrial decarbonisation cluster, into the refinery.
