Dr. Johannessen is Head of Maritime Application and Viability at the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping having focus on techno-economic overview of pathways to the decarbonization of shipping. Prior to this, he held the R&D-lead at A.P. Moller-Maersk in the team establishing center. He was originally associate professor in chemical engineering at TU of Denmark. In 2005 he co-founded a CleanTech company and served as CTO during industrialization of an ammonia-based emissions control solution for diesel engines combining on-line emissions monitoring. His present role brings together a solid technology overview, entrepreneurial mindset and a drive to bring new technologies to the market. He is recipient of the EPO European Inventor Award for SMEs.
