With European nations aligning around new energy transition initiatives and strengthened legislative frameworks, momentum is accelerating across CCUS and hydrogen project development.

This conference will centre on industrial decarbonisation and the critical role that carbon capture, utilisation & storage and hydrogen production play in delivering it. Discussions will also address the evolving policy and market landscape, including the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS), the emergence of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) within the nuclear mix, and the growing role of data centres as both major energy consumers and strategic infrastructure within the future low-carbon energy system.

The 5th Europe CCUS & Hydrogen Decarbonisation Summit will focus on the implementation of CCS & CCUS within industrial operations and how hydrogen can decarbonise industry and transport. The summit will bring together 350+ government officials, regulators, key industry stake holders, leading academia, and service companies. This will be accompanied alongside a side exhibition of 20+ exhibitors showcasing innovative CCUS and hydrogen technologies and services.

Session 1 The Need to Scale Up Industrial Decarbonisation

Current trajectory assessments suggest that the European Union is not fully on course to meet its 2030 climate and energy targets, with 2035 increasingly emerging as a more attainable milestone under existing delivery frameworks. In this context, the session will critically examine recent legislative and regulatory developments, including implementation gaps, financing mechanisms, and cross-border coordination challenges. It will explore how strengthened policy alignment, industrial competitiveness measures, and accelerated deployment frameworks can reinforce the EU’s decarbonisation pathway and restore credibility in achieving its long-term Net Zero objectives.

Session 2 CCS Projects, Infrastructure and Transportation

This session will provide a strategic update on CCUS and CCS developments across Europe, outlining anticipated FID milestones over the next 18 months within the evolving EU policy framework. It will examine the pathway from FEED to FID under the EU Innovation Fund, TEN-E and the Net-Zero Industry Act, with particular focus on cross-border CO₂ transport networks, shared storage infrastructure, liability frameworks, and third-party access models. The discussion will assess how scalable transport and storage solutions are critical to unlocking industrial decarbonisation and accelerating large-scale CCS deployment across Europe.

Session 4 Industrial Port Energy infrastructure

Ports across Europe are rapidly emerging as critical enablers of the energy transition, particularly as the new Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) comes into effect and bilateral trade agreements continue to reshape global markets. Alongside this, ports are becoming strategic hubs for the import and export of diverse energy vectors. This session will explore how ports can strengthen global energy security, while responding to growing demand for green energy solutions — including hydrogen and ammonia — positioning themselves at the centre of the new low-carbon economy.
