Afshean Talasaz serves as a Senior Data Scientist at Chesapeake Energy Corporation where he leads implementation and development of data science and advanced analytics capabilities. During his 9 years at Chesapeake, Afshean has directed multidisciplinary groups working on acquisitions & divestitures, financial & strategic planning, and analytics.

Following over a decade working in the oil & gas industry, Afshean firmly believes that data science and advanced analytics will change operating models and directly impact financial performance in new and exciting ways.

Afshean holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A. from the University of Central Oklahoma. He also serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits and as Treasurer for the Mayflower Medical Outreach.
