Dr Thorsten Arnhold

Prof. Dr. Arnhold studied Electronics at the Technical University Dresden. At the same University he got his Dr.-Engineer - Title (comparable to PhD in Anglo Saxon countries).

He has a Diploma for Marketing Management of the St. Galler Business School.

He started his business carrier as a Senior Quality Engineer at Commodore Computers.

For 29 years, he is working for the German Manufacturer R. STAHL.

His current position in this company is VP Technology. Before this, he was responsible for the Quality Management, the Design department and for the Product Management and Marketing.

Between 2014 and 2020, Thorsten Arnhold was the Chairman of the IECEx System. Before he was elected he was the Head of the German Delegation at the IECEx Management Committee for 7 years.

From the very beginning of his carrier at STAHL he is strongly involved in numerous activities at

IEC TC 31 and IECEx.

Since 2020 Thorsten Arnhold is the German delegate at the IEC Conformity Assessment Board (CAB).

He gives lectures of Strategic Management at the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Science in Jena and of Safety Technology at the University of Applied Science Heilbronn.
