James is the CCUS Director at Viridor, responsible for CCUS projects development to deliver the organisation’s pathway to Climate Positivity. He is excited to lead a pathfinding project in the UK, applying CCS to energy from waste, and to unlock the opportunity of engineered carbon dioxide removals, both of which contribute to decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors.

A Chartered Engineer with the IMechE, he has over a decade of experience working across the Energy industry working on projects at all stages of life, from conception through operations to decommissioning. In this time he has worked within on and offshore wind, heat networks, thermal (gas fired) power, oil and gas, resource recovery and energy from waste industries providing him broad experience of the UK energy and broader energy transition sectors.
