The National Wealth Fund is a mission-driven investor with the capital, expertise and ambition to unlock the UK’s future.

It invests, alongside partners, in the infrastructure, places, businesses and technologies that drive economic growth, help to build national resilience, and accelerate the transition to clean energy.

The Fund is based in Leeds and has £27.8 billion of core capitalisation to deploy in pursuit of its triple bottom line: supporting the government’s growth and clean energy missions, crowding in significant private capital over time and generating a return for the taxpayer

It provides bespoke support to local and regional government to accelerate regionally significant projects which drive regeneration, propel growth, support the transition to clean power and boost connectivity.

We will commit at least £5.8bn by 2030 in five clean energy and advanced manufacturing-aligned areas: green hydrogen, carbon capture, ports, gigafactories, and green steel; and we will retain flexibility to support wider areas highlighted in the Government’s Industrial and Infrastructure Strategies.
