The Energy Innovation Centre was launched with the strategic merging of two world-leading research centres at the University of Sheffield: the Translational Energy Research Centre (TERC) and the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Innovation Centre (SAF-IC). One of the largest and best-equipped R&D facilities in Europe for low-carbon technology, the EIC supports industry partners to scale-up and validate revolutionary energy systems. With over 30 permanent rigs and a state-of-the-art aviation fuels testing laboratory, the EIC is operated by world-leading researchers.Our unique facilities help fast-track green energy solutions to decarbonise a wide range of industries, with significant expertise in: aviation, hydrogen, smart energy systems and more.
